about
I have always enjoyed all creative activities, especially art and design. After starting college to pursue a career in interior design I took a break to stay home and care for my two young children. As they became more self-sufficient I went back to work with a job at Fireclay tile. Fireclay was a very creative atmosphere to work in and quickly reminded me of my love for design. I eventually returned to school to finish my interior design education and I am currently working as a designer for Next Stage Design Remodeling in San Jose.
I would describe myself as a designer who cares for the needs of their client, is a team player, is hardworking, and is willing to do what it takes to solve problems, all the while having fun with the creative process.
I love what I do and the last 7 years working for a design build company has been a dream come true. It’s a perfect fit to showcase what I do best. It doesn’t matter if it’s a whole house remodel with an addition, large kitchen, and bathrooms or a small handy man project, I just want to help and share what I know with others. I like to move fast, take design risks, and if something doesn’t go as planned be the first to help problem-solve a solution.
The people I have developed close friendships with and look up to are the project managers, carpenters, subs, vendors and fellow designers I have been lucky enough to meet along the way. I have learned so much from all of them, respect their can-do attitude and would not be where I am today without them.
Design is a passion; just as a painter with a blank canvas creates a beautiful work of art, I express my creativity in a 2 dimensional space that I fill with color, shape, pattern, a little trial and error, and a lot of hard work. That’s pretty much me… Artist/Designer/Caretaker/Motivator/Friend.
